Serbian Association of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology
A website was created for the online conference or meeting of the Serbian Association of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology. It serves to educate pediatricians. The conference is held annually, and due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was decided to hold it online.
Challenges
The primary challenge was the extremely limited development time. The site needed to be delivered rapidly, without compromising on functionality or user experience. Additionally, it had to support a potentially high number of simultaneous users with smooth performance and the ability to track participation and engagement. User authentication and session management were also necessary to ensure secure access to content during the online event.
Technologies
The project was built using WordPress for its proven stability and flexibility as a content management system. Elementor was chosen as the visual page builder, enabling rapid prototyping and allowing non-technical users to manage and update content effortlessly. This setup provided the client with the perfect balance of technical scalability and editorial simplicity.
Several enhancements were implemented to ensure optimal performance. Custom styling and layout logic were handled within Elementor, avoiding the need for backend code customization. The frontend was refined to be fully responsive, ensuring compatibility across devices. Performance optimizations included image compression, efficient loading practices, and caching mechanisms. Despite the short timeline, marketing integration was also achieved via Google Tag Manager, which facilitated tracking with tools such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel without requiring hard-coded scripts.
The results
The final product was a clean, professional website launched within the required deadline. It delivered exceptional page speed and device responsiveness while maintaining modern aesthetics and ease of navigation.
The platform successfully handled a high volume of users during the event, providing a smooth and uninterrupted experience for attendees. The client now has full control over the site’s content and layout, ensuring that future conferences or updates can be managed without technical assistance. The website stands as a reliable tool for ongoing communication and education within the pediatric otorhinolaryngology community.
