The Castles of Serbia

The website for Dvorci Srbije was developed as a brand-new digital platform built on WordPress using Elementor, following a detailed design created and approved in Figma. The project involved extensive research into the history of each castle, alongside professional photography and original content creation to bring their unique stories to life. This rich historical and visual material was seamlessly integrated into an interactive map feature, enabling users to explore Serbia’s castles with ease and engagement.

Challenges

The main challenge was to create a platform that not only presented comprehensive historical information but also provided an intuitive and visually appealing user experience. Researching and accurately representing the history of numerous castles required careful attention to detail. Additionally, integrating a custom interactive map that could effectively showcase all locations while maintaining site performance was a key technical focus.

Technologies

The site was built on WordPress with Elementor as the page builder to enable flexible, responsive design and easy content management. The Figma-designed visual concept guided the development process, ensuring consistency and client approval throughout. Custom features, including the interactive map, were implemented to enhance navigation and user engagement. High-quality images and well-structured content were optimized to maintain fast load times and accessibility.

The results

The new website offers an engaging and educational digital experience that highlights Serbia’s rich cultural heritage through its castles. Visitors can explore detailed historical narratives supported by vivid photography and an interactive map, making discovery both enjoyable and informative. The combination of WordPress, Elementor, and custom integrations provides a platform that is easy to update and scalable, supporting ongoing content growth and visitor engagement.
